Michele's Track-Record

— UNANIMOUS, BIPARTISAN, AND LOCAL.
Michele has already delivered for our community.

From a mother’s loss to a county-wide policy

In 2020, Michele’s son Keaton took what he thought was a prescription pill. It was counterfeit, laced with fentanyl, and it killed him instantly. He was one of thousands of Oregonians lost to a poisoning epidemic most families didn’t yet understand.

Michele didn’t retreat into grief — and she didn’t turn it into anger at one party or the other, because fentanyl doesn’t check voter registration. She ran for the Oregon City School Board to make sure no other family learned about this crisis the way hers did. Here’s what she’s delivered since:

Clackamas County's First School Narcan Policy

Working with district school nurses, Michele brought forward a policy putting the overdose-reversal drug in our schools. It passed unanimously — every board member, every viewpoint, one vote.

Statewide Fentanyl Education, Now Law

Michele pushed for drug and fentanyl education in every Oregon school. The Legislature passed it last session with support from both parties.

Ongoing Prevention Work in Our Community

As Chair of Oregon City Together, Michele hosts drug-education nights with local police and connects parents with prevention resources — work she’ll continue whether or not she wins this race.

Bipartisan Reform on Measure 110

Michele worked with the Fix M110 coalition to give law enforcement real tools against dealers while getting people struggling with addiction into treatment.

Why this matters for Senate District 20

Fentanyl is still the leading killer of young Oregonians. Michele isn’t learning about this crisis from a briefing book — she’s lived it, legislated on it, and gotten results that both parties voted for. In Salem, she’ll fight for prevention education, treatment that works, and consequences for the dealers bringing poison into our neighborhoods.

"I couldn’t save my son. But every school in Clackamas County now has the medicine that could save someone else’s. That’s why I do this — and it’s exactly how I’ll work in Salem: find the problem, find the people who can fix it, and don’t stop until it’s done."
